This Wiki contains information about NC IT Essential Standards and resources that may be helpful to teachers as they plan technology integrated lessons.
INFORMATION AND TECHNOLOGY ESSENTIAL STANDARDS
In September 2009, as part of the NCDPI Accountability and Curriculum Reform Effort (ACRE), the NC State Board of Education approved the new Information and Technology Essential Standards. The standards are designed to be delivered by classroom teachers in all curricular areas and grade levels. These new standards are linked below.
These are the standards that students in grade 8 must show proficiency in from integrated lessons and projects that they have completed in grades K-8. The proficiencies reflect the thinking that these skills are developed over time through integrated activities in all content areas K-12, rather than through one specific course.
